Graphene Application

Graphene possesses many special properties. There are five basic properties of graphene which seem to capture the interests of research scientists: 1) its over 90% transparency, 2) up to 500nm, large surface area (2630 m2/g), 3) thermal conductivity [≈5000W.m-1 K-1], 4) its very low electrical resistivity (10–30 Ω/ square) for both electrons as well as for holes, 5) high mechanical strength at low weight (light). Based upon these properties, vast numbers of potential applications are under continuous exploration and the list of application field seems to be endless.
  • Transparent conductive electrode for flexible displays Graphene as transparent conductive electrode for flexible displays, touch panel screen, wearable, foldable electronics.
  • Bio applications (Biosensors, DNA sequencing, Bio-imaging) Graphene application in bio sensor, DNA sequencing, bio imaging
  • Secondary battery Graphene in energy conversion and storage application: batteries, supercapacitors
  • Fuel cells Graphene in fuel cell: proton conductive membrane, bipolar plate.
  • Barrier films Graphene can be used as barrier films for organic electronic device packaging, encapsulation (OLED).
  • Conductive ink Graphene flake as conductive filler for printed inks, pasted, 3D printed inks.
